How to Balance Pool Water Chemistry
Why this matters
Water chemistry is the foundation of pool service. Unbalanced water damages plaster, vinyl liners, equipment, swimmers' eyes + skin. High (above 120): muriatic acid. Same as pH; lowers both.
Step 6: Adjust calcium hardness
Low (below 200): calcium chloride pellets. Aggressive water etches plaster + dissolves grout.

Green water (algae)
Often: low chlorine, high stabilizer, or both.

- Run filter 48-72 hours

Yellow / black algae
